Indlela Request for Proposals: Behavioural Insights Tests (BITs)

Our program, Indlela: Behavioural Insights for Better Health, would like to invite organisations in South Africa to submit proposals for rapid implementation and evaluation of nudges and other behavioural economics solutions that could improve outcomes in HIV programmes. HE2RO contributes to NDOH’s Covid-19 modelling

We are pleased to announce that we are now able to share the reports on the projections of the National Covid-19 Epi Model to which a number of HE2ROs have contributed. HE2RO has been awarded a new 5-year Co-operative Agreement from USAID

HE2RO has been awarded a new 5-year Co-operative Agreement from USAID. This new program, the HIV/AIDS Economics and Research Activity, called EVIDENCE will run from 1st December 2018 to 30th November 2023. EVIDENCE - EValuations to Inform Decisions using EcoNomiCs and Eepidemiology - is a program of applied research and evaluation, including cost and cost effectiveness analysis, cost modelling, and epidemiological analysis, aimed at assisting the Government of South Africa (GoSA) to achieve 

HE2RO is now a HBNU approved Fogarty Global Health Training Program Site

HE2RO has been approved to be a HBNU site for the Fogarty Global Health Training Program. The program provides opportunities to generate a new cadre of global health researchers, educators and professionals who will be prepared to address the new challenges in global health. New project from HE2RO and BU

HE2RO and BU are pleased to announce a new project focusing on differentiated models of HIV treatment delivery: AMBIT.   ALTERNATIVE MODELS OF ART DELIVERY: OPTIMIZING THE BENEFITS Many high HIV-prevalence countries are experimenting with and scaling up targeted service delivery approaches, or “differentiated models of care,” for providing antiretroviral treatment (ART) for HIV. ICASA 2017 Scholarship

Congratulations to Nelly Jinga, on being awarded a scholarship to attend the the 19th International Conference on AIDS & STIs  in Africa (ICASA 2017) in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire, 4-9 December 2017. The abstract entitled “Predictors of HIV Repeat Testing in selected Primary Health care clinics in South Africa, 2016-2017” was accepted for a poster presentation and Nelly Jinga will be presenting the

Congratulations to Dr Dorina Onoya. Dr Onoya's abstract entitled "Prevalence and predictors of depressive symptoms among postpartum women by HIV status and timing of HIV diagnosis in Gauteng, South Africa" has won the best abstract award of Track C: Epidemiology and Prevention Science for the upcoming ICASA 

HE2RO is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Jacqui Miot to the position of Division Director. Dr. Miot is a South African health economist and health policy specialist with a PhD in neuropharmacology. She has many years of experience in the private, academic, and public sectors in South Africa, including serving as Head of the Health Economics Unit at Discovery Health, Senior Lecturer in Pharmacology at Wits University, and Vice Chair of the National Department of Health Medicines
