Danleen James Hongoro

Danleen James Hongoro is a Researcher at the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office (HE2RO), with a wealth of experience in clinical trials concentrating on HIV, AIDS, and multi-drug resistant TB. Over the years, he has worked at prestigious institutions such as the Desmond Tutu HIV Foundation, UCT Lung Institute, UCT Clinical Research Centre, and Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). At present, he is pursuing his PhD in Health Economics at the University of Cape Town, where he is engaged in evaluating the economic influence of an mhealth initiative intended to assist those who are living with comorbid HIV. Danleen’s research interests cover HIV, TB, and non-communicable illnesses among individuals living with HIV, as well as mhealth, telehealth, ehealth, health-related quality of life, and economic assessments of health intervention.
