Dr Khumbo Shumba is a researcher at the Health Economics and Epidemiology Research Office (HE2RO). He is a physician with over 10 years of work experience in the Public Health space. He completed his Masters in Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University of Witwatersrand. Before joining HE2RO he worked as a researcher at the Centre for Statistical Analysis and Research (CESAR); and as a research associate for the Wits School of Public Health under Wits Health Consortium where he was responsible for complex multi-country data management and analyses for a lay health worker PMTCT support project. He also has had vast work experience in health systems management. He is currently involved in HIV research with the primary goal of understanding the dynamic stages of the HIV care cascade with the current HIV management policies. His other research interests include HIV treatment outcomes, TB, sexual reproductive health, and non-communicable diseases among People Living with HIV.
